How it Works
In the morning, when we arrive, we scout the location and take care of some nice shots of the wedding dress, shoes, flowers and rings and we are there as you are getting ready. This is very important, as this is when you really start to become the bride and groom - the culmination of this period is when you start to get dressed in the dress… very nice moments! Of course, then its the ceremony, the two of you and people’s reactions and joy. Then comes the agape, which is one of my favourite parts of the day as this is the when your family and friends bring and show their best wishes and the positive energy… After the cake, we can make the group photo and as well some smaller group photos (I will advise you how to plan for this), and afterwards, before the dinner, we will go for a couple’s photoshoot- for just the two of you! This is the time of day in which the light is the best, becomes soft and transparent and when the magic happens… some nice shots are made. I recommend that we book a full hour for the photoshoot at this time. At the dinner time, I make special care to take some nice shots of the tables and setups, as well as shots of the food arrangements. For the first dance I use a special off camera coloured flash technique and some other nice tricks. And than its the party all around for everyone, which we need to shoot just a little bit of. Half an hour is enough.
In a few days after the wedding I will send you 10-15 photos, so you can send the Thank you notes to your guests and all the photos should be ready in around a month after the wedding. Wedding film post processing takes much longer, since the music choice and the careful “flow” adjustments are needed. Also, it is important to note that after we are booked, we organise a Skype in order to get to know you, your wishes and tastes, so its easier for us to make certain choices later on.

By nature, I am a storyteller, but somehow I prefer the moment over the narration. I enjoy things that can be seen only with the corner of the eye and not directly. I prefer making silent photos as opposite to loud and flashy ones. I’m looking for fragile and delicate moments of delightful impermanence, a dance of figures between light and shadows. I see life in the smallest of forms.
My inspirations include old painters like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Vermeer… and the way they saw light and form – especially very pronounced chiaroscuro, with violent contrasts of light and dark. I also very much like impressionism with its blurred reality and film noir with its passion and dramatic lighting and its grain. Another major influence on my work is Japan in its many forms. I am generally quite a fan of classical composition and I enjoy immensely photographing groups of people and the way they interact. My composition might not be the most attractive on first sight, but I feel it is truly timeless.

I love to work with my hands and make stuff (yes - the wooden box with USB thumbdrive that you get is made by me!). I don't like flying but will do it for you. I breathe the scent of the forrest as I run through it, the wind, the dirt, the leaves of grass. Silence. My inner world is vast and more important to me than my outer world, you know, that is why I am an artist.
Every film I make is personalized! It is not just about the wedding day, it is also about everything else that you are. How you are. It is about that sparkle in your eyes, the way you smile, how you complement each other- the way you are. I get the rush down my spine when I see people radiating love-this is the stardust that gets sprinkled on the films I make.
To predict what will your film be is impossible. It is a mix of your energies, your love for each other and how I perceive the world and you in it. The film is born after countless hours of watching the footage from your wedding day, searching the right music, editing the emotions, listening to the voices and being creative. Then the first draft is made. It usually is unwatchable, but I can feel it is going to be awesome. After a few days of thinking about the movie and letting it simmer in the background and editing in between, lots of coffee and and a bunch of other sweet and sour stuff, your film is born. What it needs now is few more days of colour grading to get that cinematic organic look and then it is finished. At this time I feel I know you really good. It takes me somewhere between one to three weeks to finish your films, depending on the length and number of films, speeches, … And much more.
So, lets do it! It will make your day unforgettable not only for you but also for generations to come. I am here for you.
